Dual Enrollment
Dual enrollment allows high school students to take elective courses that align with their future college or career goals. Over 60,000 students in Florida participate each year in Dual Enrollment programs, and this number continue to grow. According to the U.S. Department of Education, dual enrollment credits earned in high school helps students graduate college faster and improves their chances of success in college while boosting their academic performance.
As the need to focus on career planning increased, students are encouraged to choose courses that match their career goals. Moreover, high school counselors are the key in guiding students and providing accurate information to them and their families about Dual Enrollment.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) offers Dual Enrollment programs through six of its technical colleges. Dual Enrollment is designed to help high school students earn college credits, gain industry certifications, and start their career paths while in high school.
